2015 Scholastics Award Winners
The BHHS visual arts department is proud to announce 13 student portfolios were selected as Scholastics Gold Key winners! Additionally, 27 Gold Key, 44 Silver Key, and 41 Honorable Mentions were awarded to 62 BHHS and Model students in the categories of photography, mixed media, digital art, painting, sculpture, drawing and illustration, comic art, and ceramics and glass. Gold Keys awarded will be judged at the national level in March .View some of the Gold Key winners here!
The Southeastern Michigan Region of the Scholastic Art Awards is sponsored by the College for Creative Studies and supported by an advisory board of volunteer art teachers. This region receives more than 5,500 works of art and 300 portfolios from middle school and high school students. An award ceremony will be held at the historic Detroit Film Theater at the Detroit Institute of Arts on Wednesday, February 11, 2015.
Scholastics Art Exhibit
The Scholastics Art Exhibit will be held from February 10 - March 6, 2015, with student artwork on display at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
