2016 High School Scholastic Art Awards

The BHHS and Model Center visual arts departments are proud to announce the following students received Scholastic Gold Key Awards for a portfolio: Katie Adams, James Barrett, Hwan Jang, Ben Jasper, Andrianna McKendrick, Kaley Richman. Nearly 6,000 individual entries for middle and high school and more than 300 senior portfolios were entered in 15 categories this year. Many excellent works were submitted, and 1093 individual category works and 90 Portfolios were selected to receive American Vision, Gold Key, Silver Key and Honorable Mention Awards. Gold Keys awarded will be judged at the national level in March.

The Scholastics Art Exhibit will be held from February 8 - March 4, 2016, with student artwork on display at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. An award ceremony was held at the historic Detroit Film Theater at the Detroit Institute of Arts on Monday, February 8, 2016.

The Southeastern Michigan Region of the Scholastic Art Awards is sponsored by the College for Creative Studies and supported by an advisory board of volunteer art teachers.
